The group of structures located in Esenköy Village of Nazilli District were built at the foot of a Carian city named Harpasa Castle. In some sources the name of this place is Arpaz Castle. Arpaz Beyleri (Local Ottoman Lords), who owned the vast farm land which extended all the way to the Akçay, had the castle built in the beginning of the 19th century. This place is more like a chateau with its lord’s manor, security tower, storehouse, stables and outbuilding. Hacı Hasan Bey of Arpaz had the tower built by the craftsman he brought back from Rhodes during Mahmud II era.
