It’s located in downtown Aydın, in Hasan Efendi Neighborhood. Among locals it is also referred to as “Eski-Yeni” (lit. Old-New) Mosque. Governor of Egypt Muhiddin Efendi’s son Hasan Pasha had it built in 1585.

The mosque’s marble niche and minbar (pulpit) are some of the most beautiful examples among the mosques in Aydın City. The ornaments on these are especially striking.
