The most striking structure in Germencik District’s old Greek village Mursallı is Taxiarchis Church. Taxiarchis which means “Archangel” is the name of an important icon in the church. Built in 1860, the church is one of the most important religious locations in the region for the Greeks. Apart from the church, Greek houses can also be seen in the village as examples of civil architecture. In addition adobe houses are still standing strong as specimens of civil architecture in Mursallı Village.
