Route Details
When you reach Kemer Dam, which was built in 1958 in order to prevent floods and make better use of the water in the area, you can taste fish such as trout and catfish that grow in Kemer Dam Lake at the local restaurants. Afterwards, you can go on a tour of the canyon with boats that set off from Aydın Metropolitan Municipality’s pier in Kemer Dam Lake. In addition, you can buy local agricultural products from Kemer Village Bazaar that was set up by the initiative of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality. Later on the route, you can reach Güvenir village by hiking by the side of Kemer Dam and Arapapıştı Canyon, and from Güvenir you can arrive in Körteke village. You can see Körteke Castle that was built on Xyatis Ancient City as you walk from Körteke to Örencik village. When you reach Örencik village you can watch the view of Kemer Dam, and visit the village’s unique stone houses as you stroll through the pine trees.
