Külliye consisting of a mosque, a madrasah, a public fountain, and another water fountain was built on the old caravan route in Aydın’s centre, in Köprülü Neighborhood on the order of Cihanzade Müderris Abdülaziz Efendi in 1756. The mosque with its interesting interior baroque ornaments is one of Ottoman architecture’s important examples. Today, the madrasah is a public education centre. On the mosque’s southern side are the public fountain and the water fountain for charity.
