Route Details

You can start your day off by visiting Karacasu District’s unique ceramic and leather workshops. Aphrodisias Ancient City, located 12 km east of Karacasu District, is an ancient city which entered UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2017, and it is one of the most beautiful and important ancient cities in the World. In Aphrodisias Ancient City, you can start your route by visiting the Temple of Aphrodite dedicated to the goddess of love and beauty, the temple’s monumental gateway Tetrapylon and the ancient era’s best preserved structure the stadium as well as various other ruins. You can end your trip of the ancient city by visiting Aphrodisias Museum, where artifacts unearthed during the excavations in the city are exhibited.

From here, you can proceed to Bingeç Village by passing through Geyre. In Bingeç village you can visit Plarasa Ancient City which is known to have been more famous than Aphrodisias in the ancient period but later on overshadowed by Aphrodisias City during the Roman period. After leaving Bingeç, you can move on through Aegean villages such as Yaykın and Akyaka, and reach Arapapıştı Canyon. In Arapapıştı Canyon, located in Akçay Valley, in order to sightsee the historical and natural beauty of the canyon, you can go on a tour of the canyon with Aydın Metropolitan Municipality’s boats that set off from Kemer Dam pier. At local restaurants in the region you can taste fish, such as trout and catfish that grow in Kemer Dam Lake.
